JEDDAH: A multi-crore-rupee NRI investment project will be showcased during the upcoming 'Emerging Kerala' meet that will be held at the Le Meridien International Convention Centre in Kochi from September 12-14.
The project, named as “Educity” is designed and promoted by an Indian medical group in Saudi Arabia known as the Al Abeer Medical Group. By showcasing the project in the Emerging Kerala, they seek for a quick govt clearance and necessary official sanctions besides attracting inverstors from within and outside India.
The promoters forecast no opposition to the Educity project, being the land and money is not sought from the govt.
This project, if materializes, will be the first NRI mission for quality education in Kerala. The promoters claim that the project is envisaged by two reasons –- to enable quality education at affordable fees for NRI seats and the continuity of education with safe environment for NRI children.
The promoters plan to invest approximately Rs 800 crore in the project that plans to remodel and modernize academic education from school level to professional education level like medical, engineering and management education under one umbrella. It also plans to invite Middle Eastern companies to recruit students through campus selections.
